I build software.I design experiences.I create impact.

I'm Ssemanda Gerald, a Computer Science student, programmer, graphic designer and creative media practitioner based in Uganda. I build digital solutions, craft visual experiences, and use technology to empower people.

Illustrative composition of how my disciplines connect. It is not a screenshot of finished work.

Software I'm building

I work in Python and Kotlin and am learning web development, databases and AI-assisted development. These projects are real plans and designs I've worked on. Each is labelled with its true status.

Graphic design

Posters, event artwork, social graphics, presentation slides and promotional materials for churches, schools, community programmes and youth initiatives. Made with Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva.

Dashed tiles are placeholders. Add real artwork in the designs list in the script.

Video and livestreaming

Editing and live production for church, school and community events, using Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, vMix and OBS Studio.

Sunday Services with the Archbishop

During the COVID-19 period I helped livestream Sunday Services with the Archbishop through Words of Hope Ministries Uganda. It was volunteer service work.

Add real video files or thumbnails in the media list in the script. Nothing here autoplays.

1031TECH: Transforming Lives for the Glory of God

I founded and lead the St. Andrew's Kisoga COU 1031TECH Skilling Program, connected with St. Andrew's Church of Uganda in Kisoga and the Kisoga Child Development Centre in Mukono. It makes practical ICT learning more accessible to young people and community members.

  • Cohort 1 learners completed Computer Basics and Graphics Designing Level 1.
  • My work: programme coordination, stakeholder communication, promotional design, training support and event documentation.
  • I'm also exploring a website and a printing and design service that could help sustain the training.

About me

I'm a Computer Science student at Uganda Christian University. Before that I studied Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and ICT at A Level at King's College Budo.

I like moving between code, design and media, and I try to use all three to serve people. My interests include software engineering, AI, technology for education, youth empowerment, and where computing meets biology and health, including Computational Biology. My values are Christian faith, service, discipline and integrity.

I've used or explored these tools to different degrees. I don't claim expert mastery of all of them.

Let's work together

I'm open to conversations about software, design, video and livestream work, collaboration, and 1031TECH partnerships.
